LCX at the World Economic Forum: How to Manage Crypto Assets?

The World Economic Forum (WEF) is a gathering of world leaders and policymakers from business, politics and academia, meeting regularly to discuss the world’s most pressing economic challenges.

World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of the New Champions

Monty C.M. Metzger, founder and CEO of LCX (Liechtenstein Cryptoassets Exchange) has been invited to attend and participate in WEF’s ‘12th Annual Meeting of the New Champions’ in Tianjin, China. The event is considered the foremost global summit on innovation, science and technology, and was held this 18th to 20th of September. Among the list of emerging technologies that will lead the world into the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology are center-stage.

Cracking the Crypto Code: How to Manage Crypto Assets?

Metzger attended several sessions. Yesterday, he participated in ‘Cracking the Crypto Code: How to Manage Crypto Assets?’ (video here), moderated by Yang Yanqing. The panel’s list of distinguished speakers included Virginijus Sinkevičius, Lithuanian Minister of Economy; Mike Kayamori, CEO of QUOINE; Meltem Demirors, Chief Strategy Officer at CoinShares UK; and Jeremy Allaire, founder and CEO of Circle Internet Financial.

Cracking the Crypto Code: A panel discussion which touched on the pain points of institutional capital.

The session discussed the value of cryptocurrencies and decentralization, open and trustless infrastructure for value exchange, contrarian views on the need for regulation, and the challenges ahead for the institutionalization of cryptoasset markets.

LCX stands together with the World Economic Forum in understanding the potential of cryptoassets, and in guiding traditional institutions and decision makers as the industry continues to evolve. It is extremely important for the industry to engage in forums like these; steering the conversation to not just promote the underlying value of cryptoassets, but also to serve as ambassadors to the legitimacy and sophistication of the asset class.

Overall, the event has brought together like-minded innovators and entrepreneurs, and LCX is excited about the abundance of partnership possibilities WEF has provided for all the participants.
