LCX launches #EndCoronavirus Initiative

This is an unusual personal message to our clients, our partners and our community. It is a message that is close to my heart as our team had been spending their free time, evenings and weekends to prepare a special initiative.

Since the Coronavirus started to emerge in December 2019, our whole team had been monitoring the situation in Wuhan. In January 2020 it already had an immediate impact on our Asian partners and friends. During the World Economic Forum at Davos, end of January. I had the chance to speak with experts in this field, but the consequence were still unclear. Now we know the epidemic is turning into a global pandemic. Now we also begin to understand the economic impact as conferences are cancelled, business travel came to a complete stop and schools are getting closed. The Coronavirus might be triggering a global economic crisis bigger than 9/11 or Lehman 2008.

We are continuing to monitor the global spread of COVID-19. In fact, we are starting to see several documented instances of community transmission in the areas of our Vaduz (Liechtenstein), Zug (Switzerland) and New Delhi (India) offices. That’s why we have early on informed our team about important Coronavirus guidelines and distributed an internal company policy. Today, we made these internal guidelines public to share the insights and help others to prepare as well.

Coronavirus Outbreak

The Coronavirus outbreak has caused immense global impact as the virus spreads internationally. The World Health Organisation has declared this outbreak a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). John Hopkins CSSE has published a map of #Coronavirus #COVIDー19 to track and monitor cases globally.

The number of cases in Europe, but also in Liechtenstein and Switzerland, will likely increase over the next few days. From passive monitoring what was going on in China, we are now actively reacting and preparing to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Mahatma Gandhi once said “The future depends on what we do in the present.” That’s why we cannot just monitor and watch any longer, we wanted to take action.

Today, we are announcing the #EndCoronavirus Movement. An initiative which depends on your engagement as well.

We aim to leverage blockchain technology to bring a new level of transparency and traceability to fight #Coronavirus #COVID19.

LCX has build EndCoronavirus.net as a global movement based on a multi-stakeholder approach, and will announce additional partners from private and public sector.

#EndCoronavirus

We want to build EndCoronavirus.net as a global movement based on a multi-stakeholder approach and we want to integrate additional partners from private and public sector.

As we experience the impact of a global coronavirus pandemic, there is an urgent need to coordinate volunteer activity, source funding, enable traceability of funds and share trusted and verified information.

We have launched a simple website EndCoronavirus.net and social media accounts at Twitter @EndCoronavirus, Instagram @end.coronavirus, TikTok @EndCoronavirus, Facebook EndCoronavirus.Net  and Youtube Channel.

As a first step we want everybody to share their activities, tips and recommendation on how to fight the virus. Tell your story, share your recommendations and use th #EndCoronavirus hashtag.

As a second step, we started to develop collaborative and crowdsourced documents. A standard Coronavirus guideline and policy for companies, a guideline and best practices for work for home and virtual conferences and a guidelines for self-quarantine and home-quarantines.

As a third step, we will include other stakeholders, partners and companies to use #EndCoronavirus as an open platform and launch additional tools and services to end Coronavirus soon.

Thank you for your support,
Monty
