In Math We Trust

Dr. Zhang’s lecture unpacked the fundamentals of crypto-economic science. What is the intrinsic value of a medium of exchange? How does consensus emerge in the natural world? Ultimately, can we “Trust Math” to create not just a distributed monetary system, but a self-organized society?

During the question period, one audience member thanked the Professor for his talk and noted that it was one of the most “refreshing” discussions he’d heard after years in the space. You can watch the full lecture and roundtable here. You can also watch a highlight video here.

Europe’s Second Chance

Moderated by Dr. Efi Pylarinou, the panel discussed topics including the monetary significance of Bitcoin, the power of math as a tool for human governance and the merger of AI and blockchain. Dr. Zhang also reflected on the significance of Liechtenstein’s recently unveiled Blockchain Act and the country’s proactive regulatory leadership. In Dr. Zhang’s view, Europe “missed the Internet boom”, mainly concentrated in Silicon Valley, as well as the “mobile boom”, concentrated in China.

However, Liechtenstein’s leadership represents Europe’s opportunity to embrace the next technological revolution, this time grounded in the objectivity of math.

Vineyards of Vaduz

Deep in the mountains and on the sunny side of the Liechtenstein valley, the discussion continued into the night. At a private dinner at the Hotel Sonnenhof restaurant, LCX team, partners and advisors reflected on the LCX vision: on the coming wave of industry maturity, on the monetary significance of cryptoassets, and, perhaps most fitting to the vineyards of Vaduz, Liechtenstein role in the international ecosystem.
